So, I went through this phase in high school where I thought I was a hippie. Looking back, consciously entering that stage was probably the single worst decision I've made in my life. (Okay, maybe I exaggerate, but it was really bad). So it's no wonder that when my mom brought home this lovely skirt she found at a garage sale, I paled a bit at the memory of that year of poor choices.
But, I tried it on somewhat reluctantly while I was fretting over what to wear that day, and lo! it was glorious.
I don't know what it is, but I just adore the fit. It's a wrap skirt, and I think I may make a pattern from it and make one or two of my own in less...earthy fabrics. The embroidery is really pretty, though, and I love Indian textiles. It came with a top, but it's a backless halter, and I just can't hack that.
A better look at the embroidery and a peek at how I take my photos. Remote shutter FTW!
